Measure Appliances
6. Measure Appliances
If you are not sure what you want in your kitchen, measure
the area, indicating entrances and windows and then do some
legwork. Visit local kitchen showrooms and electrical appliance
centers to investigate the options available. Once you have
decided on your appliances, take the external measurements and
you can start planning.
You may even try sketching a plan on graph paper. Some
showrooms even provide a small graph in some of their brochure
material. Make cutouts for your appliances so you can easily
move them around while deciding on your design. Don't fall into
the common trap of allowing too much space for appliances and
not enough for preparation and serving.
