10. A Kitchen View

On the subject of the dining room, you want your kitchen close, but not too close.

One kitchen we know of is planned so that guests sitting at the dining room table look straight through to the sink. This is fine if you’re a tidy and confident cook who doesn’t mind an audience. 

Closing the adjoining door is an option, but then there’s the complication of trying to open it again and again while simultaneously juggling half a dozen plates with painstakingly arranged nouvelle cuisine.
